PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE NEXT PTA GENERAL MEETING!  The election of  OTEPTA officers for the 2008-2009 school year will take place at our meeting on Thurs., May 15th, at 9: 00 a.m. in the Board of Ed. Conference Room, lower level of CDW.  Volunteers, class parents, heads of committees, friends, please come out and show your support and be on hand to speak to new volunteers about committees for next year.  Children benefit when parents get involved in their schools.  Set an example by making volunteer time available to help out with at least one PTA program as part of your community service.

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK RAFFLE.  The lucky winners of the raffle were Mrs. Straubinger at TBD and Mrs. Muti and CDW.  Many thanks to Ina Filip for organizing this successful event.

FIELD DAY.  Wednesday, May 21st is field day at TBD, with a rain date of Friday, May 23rd.  Ms. Janowski has sent a volunteer form home in the backpacks so please consider helping on the field, or if you can help serve lunch to the children please contact your class parents. 

CDW AUTHOR VISIT.  Award-winning author David Lubar will be visiting CDW on Tuesday, May 13th, to make presentations, sign books, and lead writers’ workshops with the students. His titles include “Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie” and “Wizards of the Game”.  Many thanks to Joanne Nesi for organizing this exciting event for CDW.

SPRING TENNIS.  The May session of spring tennis begins on May 17th.  Information can be found on our website, www.otepta.org, or you may contact Gwen Smyth at 201-767-6467.

BOX TOPS.  The final Box Tops collection for this year will be Friday, May 16th.  The class with the highest number of box tops collected will receive a pizza and ice cream party. 

TEEN SCENE EVENTS.  The SPRING FLING for CDW 6th and 7th graders will be on Friday, May 16th, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.; and the CARNIVAL ZONE for CDW 5th graders will be held on Saturday, May 17th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., both events at CDW.  Please return permission slips as soon as possible if your child would like to attend, and indicate on the form if you can chaperone.

DIALOGUES.  The next principal dialogue with Mr. Dennis Rossi will be held at CDW on Monday, May 19th at 10:00 a.m.  Please contact Maria Ferrara (201-768-5515) if you have an item to add to the agenda.
